Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo using a ‘giant’ nest box - over 1m deep! There’s been excellent long-term research in West Aus into the conservation of this beautiful species. Loss of nesting & foraging habitat is the cause of the decline of these beauties
Thx @Aquila84WA
Wedge-tailed Eagle ecologist Simon Cherriman has been installing wildlife nest boxes in areas affected by catastrophic fires here in Noongar Country. He's put a book together and has a GoFundMe to get it printed. $45 gets you a copy!

The recent #Perth#bushfire (& human 'mop-up' machines) have destroyed countless living hotels like this one. Support our #nestbox#crowdfund to help Country heal: https://t.co/IqLohjYYB3 🔥😫🌳📦🙏🏼
Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoos have received great support through the provision of nest boxes - really big boxes!!! Over 1m deep, replicating large old tree hollows
This is a great example of research, experimentation, & monitoring information conservation actions
@cn_greenwell @BirdlifeOz I am guilty @cn_greenwell !! This bird was taken into rehab as a subadult in 2017 after eating a poisoned pigeon. I banded it with approval from ABBBS & WA Cons of Raptors released her at Woodman point. It's potentially the only banded adult WBSE in SW WA! WAHOOOO!! 🦅🦅
@EuanRitchie1@ConversationEDU Thanks so much for your kind words @EuanRitchie1 !! Plenty of wonderful folk championing our wildlife, I just need to keep rounding up more! ☺️
The deliberate poisoning of at least 136 wedge-tailed eagles in East Gippsland could have Australia-wide consequences, based on the research of Simon Cherriman @Aquila84WA https://t.co/mN0vdWA7is
We can now confirm 136 Wedge-tailed Eagles found hidden throughout property in bushland & scrub. We believe numbers may be higher than what we seized. At this stage no charges have been laid, but we have someone helping us with our enquiry. Contact @CrimeStopperVic with any info
