We closed @AquinasKC with Vespers, followed by lots of conversations afterwards. More than speaking I enjoyed seeing how sacred doctrine builds friendships.
We already have the speakers for 2027. I look forward to seeing you in Kansas City again.
In our distracted, anxious age, Aquinas tells us us we will find our greatest happiness in an undistracted, singular vision of God. What joy to join Dominic Legge & @cajetancuddy to make @AquinasKC a reality. 🧵
The launch of Aquinas KC was beautiful. Catholics, Protestants, all coming around our common doctor to answer hard questions from our secular age. Thanks to @MattMBarrett & Dominic Legge @dominicanfriars, and moderator @cajetancuddy. Great breakouts too!
I am here at Donnelly College where the @AquinasKC Conference will happen tomorrow. Catholics, Protestants, both meeting up around Aquinas to answer some of the most pressing questions of our age. Can’t wait. We have a few spots left. Lunch provided. https://t.co/d3G2g3gcIJ
I am about finished with my lecture for @AquinasKC this Saturday on Happiness and the Search for God. I will be speaking along with others like @cajetancuddy, John Meinert, Dominic Legge, OP, and more. There are still a few seats left to join me in Kansas City: https://t.co/GndKn3fNy6
We can do all things in Christ who strengthens us.
Jesus, for Saint Paul, is his beginning, his middle, and his end. St. Paul is most attuned to Jesus. Jesus is his center, his heart, his Gospel, Jesus is his Savior.

We're radically activated by God's very realism. So all of the change that occurs in beatific union, beatific vision is in the human person, and that's grace, and that's glory. And so God, when God's real with us, we become divinized. There's the theme of theosis. —Fr. @cajetancuddy@MattMBarrett and Fr. "Because God is pure act, he has no potency, no unrealized capacities, power, and he has no privations, no disorders. What beatitude shows us is that this is the real God as he really is in himself." —Fr. Cajetan Cuddy

The body is not incidental to the Christian faith.
St. Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, emphasizes the fact that the body is utterly important to the glorification of Christ.

Can anything in this world make us truly happy? Aquinas says no, not because created goods are bad, but because they cannot bear the weight of our final happiness.
We were made for God.

Can you be happy without pleasure? Aquinas says no, not because happiness requires pleasure for its existence, but because pleasure always accompanies happiness. Seeing God is the highest happiness. The very sight of God causes delight. He who sees God lacks no further delight.
When our desire rests in God, the highest good, delight or pleasure is not the enemy of holiness, but its companion.
