The Barsa Kelmes salt lake is the bottom of prehistoric Tethys Sea, described by some a salt reservoir.

When we started organising tours to the Aral Sea back in 2005 we would camp with tents. After years of planning, in 2017 we trialled with 2 yurts.

Now, we have a settlement of 15 yurts along with a portable home for our camp steward, Daniyar!
