@thelegitHiccup@indyfromspace Blatantly ignoring victims seems to me a typical example of "what you don't like". And I am not a product or part of the US educational system. I teach, yes. And also on victims, opression, inequality and ethics. Splitting helps afterwards you refit.
@thelegitHiccup@indyfromspace Splitting is not the same as ignoring or forgetting what you don't like. It works the other way round as well. So split the achievements from the person and discuss the behaviour separately.
@indyfromspace Isaac Newton was probably the greatest scientist that ever lived. Hardly anyone is nowadays interested in his qualities as a human being. (Not that great.)
Perhaps it is helpful to split the person from the achievement.
