“I should have [started a production company] 20 years ago, but the person I wanted to do it with wasn’t available: my husband. He was busy with his day job.”-Sarah Lancashire (Variety, 2024)

@kayewhitehead As a pakeha (white) New Zealander I consider the haka was entirely appropriate considering the bill before parliament is an attempt to divide our nation. Was proud to watch this.
Barely sober self confessed racist said had he been there in parliament yesterday "he wouldn't have felt safe",
I suggest barely sober avoid all sports events involving a HAKA
When I go to Australia, I know I’m a guest on Aboriginal land. When I go to the states, I know I am a guest on Native American land. So me saying to Non-Māori that you are a guest here in Aotearoa, is not some ground breaking thing🤣
Watch this incredible protest as the indigenous Maori MPs perform a haka to disrupt the vote on a bill that seeks to diminish their rights.
Imagine if Western politicians had the same courage to stand up to genocide and shame Israel in similar ways.
Can't stop thinking about the leadership shown yesterday by Hana, Rawiri and Debbie and the power it gives our babies to unapologetically be who they are on their own whenua. Incredibly proud to be a member of Te Pāti Māori.
@Ppl_not_profits@Maori_Party American here, and I have to say, I saw this was in Aotearoa and thought, "Yup, there they go again...the Kiwis know how to do government!" 💚
@Ppl_not_profits@Maori_Party It was so powerful - those women are fierce - total respect.
The Huka was equally inspiring and terrifying at the same time.
I hope the NZ Government gets the message because we sure did.
@Ppl_not_profits@Maori_Party Being from Scotland, I watched this with a tear in my eye - through disgust at what the colonisers did (and are still doing) but also through admiration. ❤️
