In one’s professional life, you encounter many individuals who leave a lasting impression for various reasons. Late Arbab Jehangir Khan, the former Chief Minister of the then NWFP, was someone who was liked and respected by everyone for his gentle demeanour and the respect he showed to everyone. Although we were quite junior in service when he took office as Chief Minister, on the few occasions I met him, I found him to be a true gentleman. I recall an incident during the condolence gathering for a colleague’s mother, where I quietly entered and occupied a corner chair. Arbab Sahib was also present, and to my surprise, I saw him get up from his seat to shake my hand. I felt embarrassed and apologised for not noticing him sooner. He retired from active politics in 2002 but continued to attend functions. In 2007, when I was assigned to a key position in Peshawar, I called to extend my regards and ask if I could visit him. He graciously replied, saying, "You are our 'Illaqa officer', and it's our duty to call on you." Subsequently, Arbab Sahib came to visit me as a warm gesture. As sitting Chief Minister, he would often be online beforehand avoiding the usual protocol, listening to the concerns of the people and contacting the relevant officers. He truly was a people's Chief Minister.

During Eid ul Adha, the efforts of @wsspofficial officials and sanitation workers in maintaining cleanliness across Peshawar are appreciated. Managing the city during these busy days is not easy, and the work being carried out on the ground is visible in many areas. At a time when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces serious governance challenges and persistent concerns of corruption and mismanagement, convening an assembly session at Arbab Niaz Stadium reflects deeply misplaced priorities. With assembly proceedings already live-streamed and fully accessible, there is no credible functional or transparency justification for this move, only unnecessary expenditure of public funds. The people of KP deserve a full account of the cost and rationale. Instead of focusing on reform, service delivery, and accountability, the government continues to prioritise optics over substance and politics over the real needs of the people.

I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist bomb blast at the Imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area. Targeting a place of worship and innocent worshippers is a barbaric act and a direct assault on our faith, our values, and our shared humanity.

I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs and stand in solidarity with the bereaved in this hour of grief. Such acts of terror will not shake our resolve. The people of Pakistan remain united against every extremist threat, and those responsible must be brought to justice without delay.

Seeing Noreen Niazi on Indian channels today repeat the same extreme lines used in Indian propaganda was deeply alarming. With due respect, portraying Pakistan as “worse than Hitler’s regime” is not only irresponsible, it directly empowers those who work to malign our country. Political frustration can never justify feeding hostile media the narrative they seek. Whatever our differences at home, no Pakistani should lend legitimacy to voices that stand against Pakistan.

After Governor @fkkundi returned the CM’s resignation for verification, PTI now claims a Governor’s acceptance and notification aren’t required. Yet in 2022, their own Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar accepted and notified Usman Buzdar’s resignation before electing a new CM. The Administration Department hasn’t de-notified the cabinet as yet. We have boycotted the election of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as it is unconstitutional. The Governor has not accepted or notified the previous CM’s resignation, therefore no vacancy legally exists.
