The hated rally always pumps the hardest.

Now that the dust has settled on the @getgrass_io ($GRASS) TGE and Airdrop One, several interesting under-the-radar updates have continued to quietly reinforced Grass’s position as a leader in the AI x Crypto narrative.

Sharing a couple updates:
• Post-TGE developments
• Priceless data
• Live Context Retrieval (LCR) use cases

1. Post-TGE Updates

Key stats since TGE:
• 80% $GRASS (62m tokens) claimed so far across 1.7 million individual addresses.
• 32% of $GRASS (25m tokens) staked
• Market cap sits at $224m as not all tokens are claimed ($1.12 per $GRASS)

With such a high proportion staked, this shows that the first wave of farmers have mostly left and the rest are holding onto their airdrop instead of fully stacking immediately.
In the short term, emissions should be well controlled as early investors and contributors have a 1 year cliff before unlocks. Most importantly, locked tokens cannot be staked until they are vested - ensuring no continuous selling pressure by locked holders.

Price action has also been strong since TGE, with early airdrop dumpers out of the way and stakers increasing daily.

2. Priceless Data
@0xdrej recently shared that over 80TB of data was gathered via the Grass Network in just 24 hours.

For context, OpenAI’s GPT-3 was trained on roughly 45TB of text data. While there’s no public info on how much data GPT-4 required, even if it was 10x larger (around 450TB), the Grass Network would still surpass that by more than 5x in just a month (80TB x 30 days = 2400TB).

Not only is the sheer volume impressive, but the data collected is also multimodal in nature, capturing non-text formats such as images, videos, and more - all in real time.

Companies like Adobe have been buying videos for $3 per minute to train their AI models:
• A typical 10-minute video is roughly 1 GB in size ($30 in revenue)
• Assuming that 10% of the monthly 2,400 TB of data scraped is video content, this translates to 240K videos per month (240 TB video data)
• Therefore, 240K videos would yield a potential monthly revenue of $7.2M (240K x $30 per video)

Massive real-time multimodal data collection + Grass Socrates organizing it into a structured dataset = priceless resource for companies aiming to level up their AI model capabilities.

3. Live Context Retrieval (LCR) Use Cases
While the Grass Network’s primary focus has been on AI, other industries are already exploring its potential.

A notable example is within the gaming space, where the team behind @BA5TION (a realistic action-adventure fighting game) is planning to integrate Grass’s LCR to enhance gameplay and deliver a personalized player experience.

What this could mean for players:
• Knowledgeable NPCs with latest real-time and accurate historical information
• Dynamic characters that engage in human-like conversations
• Unique storyline tailored to players

It will be interesting to see which other industries begin leveraging Grass's LCR to enhance user experiences and explore new use cases that require both historical and real-time information (e.g., real-time betting odds analyzing live data or real-time risk assessment tools in DeFi).

4. Personal Thoughts
The team just announced that Stage 2 of the network will be kicking off soon, with more rewards and new product releases (inc. Grass app rollout) coming alongside it.

Following the strong success of Stage 1 and positive price action recently, it’ll be interesting to see how the team builds on this momentum to drive further growth and engagement. I’ll be sharing more insights on Stage 2 as updates are released too.

AAVE introducing new staking mechanism, fee switch, and restaking for safety module
Here are the AAVEnomics Proposal Key Takeaways on AAVE Token

1. Status and Timeline
- The current stage is still at temperature check. If there is no huge pushback from the community, it will move to snapshot vote (off-chain)
- Even if the proposal has passed, the fee switch will not be turned on immediately. There will be certain triggering prerequisites

2. AAVE Staking
- AAVE Staking module will no longer have any slashing. Drop from 30% to 0%
- There will still be a lockup period of 20 days
- Staking rewards will be generated from revenue captured from borrowing activities and GHO. AAVE Finance service providers will then use the excess revenue to buyback AAVE on the secondary market and distribute to stakers

3. AAVE Safety Module (Seize and Sell to Seize and Burn)
- AAVE staking will no longer be used to cover bad debt. Instead, users who lend on AAVE can use the aTokens (IOU on the underlying assets lent to AAVE) to restake for extra yield or to cover the bad debts

4. Ramifications:
- Staking AAVE can become more attractive for AAVE holders as there will no longer be any slashing risk
- AAVE will not be sold to cover bad debts together with the new buyback mechanism can potentially support a more sustainable price action for the token
- The new safety module will be more scalable and robust and won't be limited by the market cap of AAVE, which has the potential to scale to billions of dollars
- The uncertainty here is the revenue allocation. What would be the % allocated to aave stakers and the % allocated to incentivize restakers to supply assets for the safety module to cover bad debt
