@TrentKaniuga Noone would ever pick up a book because it looks cool if they all look the same. It's why I loved Ethan Van Sciver's art as well as Chris Bachalo when I first read New X-Men. If they both looked the same, I wouldn't have wanted to pick up other books drawn by either of them.

@TrentKaniuga Our comics will do the same. I love the size of a comic book sitting on a shelf, but manga is just so much more fun to read. Each panel feels so much more interesting.

T says the best thing about indie comics is the passion! People put so much of their lives into their passion project not just a paycheck. It allows them to take bigger risks, flourish in their creativity, and do things that big companies may not allow.
Cody says the best thing is that anything can happen. The tension is higher, since the main character could die in any issue since they don’t have to have to worry about brand consistency. Non-indies don’t usually allow their characters to grow, change, or die because straying from the status quo hurts the brand.

@TrentKaniuga The white outlined texts draws my eyes a lot more, making it feel like the illustration is more of a background. While the black outlined white text takes less focus away from the illustration. I prefer the second image.

@StrangePages I feel the same way. I never felt my art was great while I was coloring it myself. When I met @bloodthirs_t , she started rendering my art, elevating it to a point where I feel confident to make our own comics. We even just started @ArcInkComics together.

We are trying to find the right strategy now. Sometimes it feels like growing a platform is impossible. From a little research we did, it seems consistency in posting content is the best way. Not just content about your comic, but also things related to it. Ours is a fantasy comic with overlap in manga and D&D, so posting about those can boost engagement and help find your crowd. More than 70% should be about your comic though.
