The Salem Senators have become the first back to back champions of The Mavericks League, winning in ‘22 and ‘23. The first came under manager Dave Wong who then retired and passed the torch to Tyler Jackson. In his first season as a skipper, he led a relentless squad filled with talent to another championship victory, earning himself a Manager of the Year award along the way. This season, Jackson and the Senators look to cement themselves as a dynasty in the league as they aim for a third consecutive ring. The Senators have retained the most players in the league this year. Returning to the pitching staff we have: Justin Nathasingh, Vinny Fuentes, Andres Alonso, Manny Silva, and Julien Garcia. Andres Alonso tossed two great innings late in the championship to hold off the Volcanoes last season. Julien Garcia was arguably the best closer in the league and Justin Nathasingh was an All Star reliever. For position players: Isaiah Dominguez, Edson Ruiz, Dillon Krah, and Roy Verdejo. Isaiah Dominguez was an All Star utility player and Roy Verdejo tied Mavericks League history with 59 RBIs on the year. Tyler Jackson added new pieces to go along with his veterans this offseason, hoping to create another championship recipe.
