I love the funkiness in the flavor. The heat is mild and simple, much like Frank's Red Hot or Louisiana Hot Sauce.

I didn't go super traditional. I substituted andouille for pork and added extra veggies. It was still a hit. My 6-year-old niece kept trying to eat all the andouille
@JacquelynGill I agree, I'm thankful that my organic chemistry professor was generous when it came to grading, she always offered multiple methods of improving your grades.
I value what I learned there, because, even though today I am terrible at chemistry, the building blocks are there.
@PalyJen@kif213 Late response, but I encountered something similar during my undergraduate thesis. It was macrofossils from an ancient kettle lake in southern Michigan. At the time I logged it as unknown seed, turned out to be freshwater shrimp eggs.
There is lots of news of an imminent volcanic eruption in Iceland. Nobody has bothered to list the name of the volcano. It is from a region called #Fagradalsfjall. I don't know if that will be what the eruption is called, but it's got real #Eyjafjallajökull vibes.
Excited for Hatch chile season again. I missed last year but made a really great hot sauce two years ago. Thankfully I won't have to wait for this batch to ferment before I can enjoy it. I thought it was all gone but just found a huge container of it in the freezer.
