Rest in peace, Stacey King.
Pass around the hot sauce and sriracha up there. And if there’s a game being played beyond the clouds, I hope you’re already on the mic reminding everyone who’s too big, too fast, too strong, and too good.
Thank you for the memories, King. ❤️🏀🐂
I was in high school when the Bulls won their first three-peat.
Back then, at the height of the dynasty, I could name every player on those teams. From the GOAT himself down to the last guy on the bench. As Bulls fans, we knew everyone.
Whoever takes his place will have enormous shoes to fill.
Literally.
But more importantly, they’ll have to fill a role that Stacey made uniquely his own. He wasn’t just calling Bulls games. He was helping generations of fans experience them.
Maybe the “hero gene” is in us, waiting for the right mission, principle, or people to wake it up.
A reflection on Project Hail Mary, courage, leadership, and quiet heroism.

They should be mirrors.
Humility shouldn’t mean silence, and confidence shouldn’t become self-crowning.

A powerful line from Serendipity made me stop and think. “Did he have passion?” I wrote about purpose, leadership, family, work, and what it means to live with heart.
