The Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, completing their fasting and prayer, they laid hands on them and sent them off (Acts 13:1–3). St. Barnabas, help us to be Spirit-filled missionary disciples.
“Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father” (Mt 5:13–16). We are called to reflect the light of Christ in our world’s darkness.
“A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house” (Mt 5:13–16). Jesus is the light of the world.
On the night he was handed over, Jesus took bread, and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Cor 11:23–26). A blessed Corpus Christi Sunday to all!
We thank God for the three men who are being ordained to the priesthood today. May they conform their lives to Christ the one High Priest, and may He strengthen and inspire them in their priestly ministry in His Church.

“Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood” (Mk 12:38–44).
“May they all be one as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that the world may believe that you sent me, says the Lord” (Jn 17:20–26). Jesus prays that our unity will be a sign to the world that God the Father has sent him to be our Redeemer.
Today our Church remembers the African martyrs Saint Charles Lwanga and his Companions who were executed because of their refusal to renounce their faith or accede to the king’s immoral demands. Today, Saint Charles Lwanga is a patron of African youth.
“The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes” (Ps 118:22; Mk 12:1–12). My episcopal motto reflects the prophecy fulfilled by the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
“God our Father, who by sending into the world
the Word of truth and the Spirit of sanctification
made known to the human race your wondrous mystery,
grant us that in professing the true faith,
we may acknowledge the Trinity and adore your Unity, powerful in majesty” (Collect).
“A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (Rv 12:1). We honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, as Queen of Heaven.
“For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mk 10:45). Today we remember Pope Saint Paul VI, servant of the servants of God.
“Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Pt 2:2–5).

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few” (Mt 7: 13–14). Lord Jesus, lead the way!
