There are exceptions to this, obviously. I'm not going to knock Halo Infinite's take on Forerunner architecture. I still think it's pretty. But I feel like Reach and Aliens were supposed to be "X take on the universe" instead of "this is how it always is".
I view Halo Reach the way I view Aliens. Really good (Aliens is leagues better) but their effect on their franchises seems to have left a negative impression.
Halo is better when it's more anime influenced. Alien is better when it's more horror.
As for Reach, it honed the more military sci-fi aesthetic parts of Halo 2 and 3 and made it the standard. It was this gritty realism that I think just doesn't fit. It only worsened after that in a general sense.
The best Halo ever looked in terms of *style* is Halo 3 or CE.
Bungie didn't want to discuss the red Darkness power people wanted as a subclass so they made a completely separate red power that kills you when it touches you and people are somehow still coping that Eclipse is a power we can wield despite it explicitly killing Risen.
I watched Masters of the Universe (1987) and the thing that stuck out to me the most were these goons.
It looks like they made half a dozen or more (definitely more) but like... how many still exist? Can I get one? Are they on display somewhere? This is cool wtf
I'm still not entirely sure what's going to be on the next Gundam binge I do but I do think I'll rewatch 0079, Zeta, and CCA. I think burnout may have affected my outlook on Zeta.
So far other contenders are Narrative, Hathaway, Victory, and F91. Only AU so far is Seed.
@danhuilla Based on Red War we should be fully functional human beings without the Light, and based on Drifter's accounts, the Light doesn't erase basic bodily functions.
Looks like we're getting armor sets for Hive, Lucent Brood, Fallen, and Psions. Wonder if we'll get armor for others? Cabal? Scorn? Vex? Taken again? Dread but for real this time?
I know the Trials set is pseudo Dread but... Dread anyway? Even better, Pyramid or Traveler?
Well, Monument of Triumph trailer hit. Gotta say, I would not have concluded a damn thing about Earth but it is fun to see the thought I had several months ago about the Traveler seemingly healing the Earth being plausible.
LOT of new armor. Excited about that.
@Johnny79184291@Xemphas_ch It is not a Psion, and that information is without having looked into it, taken from quick glances. Its code is tied to Nezarec's model, likely for mechanics or maybe even behavioral aspects.
This can be seen through public tools such as Quicktag.
So, we get Trials armor every DLC. That means this upcoming set was meant for Shattered Cycle, no?
I think it's very possible that, by SC being cancelled, we missed out on a glorious Pyramid story expansion yet AGAIN... which sucks because I think this was the most important...
@Johnny79184291@Xemphas_ch That was not old Explicator. It's an older entity. The shoulders are directly lifted and other factors match other Veil designs, including this particular unit.
But you are right, there's no guarantee of correlation between SC and Trials. I just find it strange how it seems.
@Johnny79184291@Xemphas_ch Because the entity the armor was based on was Pyramid-related?
Would you like to see the relevant data?
Also if you did Renegades it seemed very unlikely SC would be about the DC (unfortunately). Lodi was practically begging us to go to Chicago.
@Kunuckles The set is based off a cut Darkness enemy. It can be found in the background of Pyramid concept art (image 2 in link) and pieces are also found on other concepts in the Art of Destiny Vol 3.

@Johnny79184291@Xemphas_ch That is a fair counter. Still, it's just really weird there would've been a Pyramid set, especially after Renegades put in a surprising amount of legwork building up low-key Pyramid shenanigans via the tombs.
@instamixcoffee Guy wasn't cut from root but was from an earlier version of the game generally.
Unfortunately for you, yeah, this armor seems to be based on the 2017-18 era Darkness enemies. There's no secret message here. It just is what it is.
A less explicit theme would be ancestry.
