Beginning in 1977 at Archon #1, with GoH George R.R. Martin, and roughly 250 attendees, Archon has developed into an expansive, fan run, SF/F Convention.

Day 1 of @ArchonStl in Collinsville (near St. Louis), where I am Toastmaster! Today is a panel on world building (12pm Marquette A), Trope Survivor (9pm Salon 4), and the first of my Toastmasterly duties, MC'ing opening ceremonies (6pm Lasalle).
