Hello its me arda. I am 19 year old Turkish Muslim. I am Fan of Sonic the hedgehog, fnaf, blue archive ,nikke, snowbreak, pokemon, roblox, genshin, honkai, zzz and cr.
"they're a minor!"
alright let me speak to their legal-guardian so I can let them know their minor is being an asshole online
"you have umpteen followers!!"
your small amount of followers doesn't exempt you from the repercussions of saying stupid stuff online, nor does my "larger" number exempt you from hearing my opinion of your saying stupid stuff online - also, I think it's a nice learning experience for the people who do follow me, to see what kind of behavior, the behavior I called out, is actually inappropriate
"it's just a joke, I was just kidding! It's a popular meme!"
do you just go around saying whatever everyone else is saying online or do you stop to think for yourself whether it's a healthy thing to continue repeating, specifically when using it within the contexts of specific situations that are not a joke
"You're a grown man!!"
and this grown man is tired of your shenanigans, please find your older adult and check in with them as soon as possible
"you've sent your followers to harass them!"
well no, I didn't - I don't condone harassment, which is why I made the previous PSA tweet about the death threat to begin with because that's harassment, and it was completely unnecessary
Having said that, if you have made it this far in today's reading, congratulations! You did it! Most of the people I've met on the internet are pretty great. If you are reading this right now, you yourself are probably pretty great. We all agree that we dislike when bad shit happens to people, especially the people we know and love - so why would WE ourselves, do that? Let's try to be good to each other.
It's really easy to be nice; for some, takes a little bit of extra effort. I'm tired of hearing people talk about fake niceness - no, I'm actively CHOOSING to be nice. If you're being rude/disrespectful, that is what YOU are choosing to do. Only YOU are in control of your behavior and how you treat other people, not the people around you.
If you think it's "creepy" that someone is being nice, I think that says more about you than it does about the person being nice. Being nice doesn't have to have an ulterior motive. Unfortunately, the internet has taught us to look at someone being nice as someone who is trying to take advantage of you for some reason. No. Actually, nice people DO exist, truly. Outside of this fake online internet world, real people actually exist away from the screen that are amazing and good people. You're just to glued to the screen to see it, and it's sad. Step away for awhile and take a break - you need it.
