@OP_senju I always interpreted it as the lion turtles bent the energy within the human body (“In the era before the avatar, we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves.”) while the ‘first benders’ were the first creatures/entities (moon and ocean) to bend the element itself.

@hammer0036 @MovieRoomHD Haven’t seen the show personally, but from this clip it looks like the zipper only goes up to the naval area or just above it. After that there is no zipper. (Just an observation, like I said- haven’t seen the actual show, just the clip.)
