Notice of Fumigation exercise scheduled for Sunday 16th August
We have earmarked 5 additional markets for fumigation on Sunday 16th August.

We are counting on the support of stakeholder to ensure a successful exercise.
Phase one of Markets fumigation successfully reached to Brikama, Sanchaba Sulayjobe, Old Yudum, Busumbaba and Wellingara Market.
Subsequent phases in the pipeline in the soonest possible time.
Public engagement on the fumigation of Markets, tune into Home Digital FM by 11am-12pm and DHK Fm by 16:00pm-17:00pm, Saturday 8th August 2020.

The Management, Councillors and Staff are saddened to learnt that the Lord Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council Ahmed Bensouda has tested positive for coronavirus.
We sincerely wish Mayor Bensouda a prompt and a total recovery.
Earlier today's morning, the Chairman accompanied by CEO and Gardener's Rep took delivery of 100 tonnes of compost manure donated by Dresden Banjul Organisation, a partner of the Council for onward deliveryt to 5 women horticultural gardens in the region.
The multi sectoral task force committee established to probe into the cause of fire and magnitude of it's damaged at the Brikama market, has yesterday presented their finding report to the chairman.

Hope 19 Wisconsin The Gambia, presented food stuffs to the Brikama Market fire outbreak victims.
The presented food stuff were, 30 bags of rice 25kg, 8 bags of sugar, 5 bags of potatoes, 10 bags of onion. Which was handed over to the council for an onward delivery to the victims.
A multi sectoral taskforce was on Friday morning launched by the Hon. Chairman of Council.
The taskforce is assigned to establish the cause of the fire that affected second hand cloth vendors, establish the extent of the damage and make recommendations to avoid reocurrence.
Chairman of the Council, has earlier today took delivery of 250 food aid packages donated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination agency for onwards distribution to 250 households.
The items include Rice (25kg)250 bags, cooking oil (5litre)250 gallon and Sugar (5kg)250 bags.
BAC DISTRIBUTE BAGS OF RICE TO COUNCILORS.
The council distributed 1860 bags of 25kg rice among ward councilors for an onward delivery to low income households within their respective wards.
The gesture forms parts of council's effort in response fight against COVID-19.
It could be recalled that, yesternight at around midnight, a fire outbreak ignite at the section of second hand clothes dealers at the Brikama market, a place just opposite the Brikama Health Center. The inferno consumed valuables by ashing temporary stalls.
Hon. Musa Drammeh Minister for Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs accompanied by his Permanent Secretary Mr. Buba Sanyang visited the site of the fire outbreak in the Brikama Central Market.
