When this Home Affairs partnership was announced, we were told the self-service facilities would be available to Capitec clients AND non-clients. Now you need to be a Capitec client to use the service.
Capitec is basically using access to a PUBLIC SERVICE as a customer-acquisition tool. Home Affairs brings the people through the door, Capitec gets an opportunity to turn them into clients. That’s a hell of a business deal when the service being used to grow your customer base belongs to the public.
