@flackospalace Freedom of religion has and will continue to be a product of free societies and markets such as those in the west. Healthy religions in practice are not a cope for tyranny. They are preventative measures to tyranny, like being forced to work for someone else, for example.
@bluewmist@relzseduke This is a bad example. A cockroach consumes what belongs to the human, a butterfly is nothing but a spectacle in the warmer months.
We pierce doors and windows to make a house; And it is on these spaces where there is nothing that the utility of the house depends. Therefore just as we take advantage of what is, we should recognize the utility of what is not.
-Carl Jung(1875-1961)
If someone could prove me wrong, and show me my mistake in any thought or action, I shall gladly change. I seek the truth, which never harmed anyone. The harm is to persist in one’s own self deception and ignorance.
-Marcus Aurelius(121-180)
Think for yourself to decide 1) what you want, 2) what is true, and 3) what you should do to achieve #1 in light of #2 ... and do that with humility and open-mindedness so that you can consider the best thinking available to you.
-Ray Dalio
You become what you give your attention to. If you do not choose what thoughts and images you expose yourself to, someone else will.
