. @SenatorMushtaq was subjected to repeated arrests in Pakistan for raising his voice for the Palestinian people and now he has been abducted by rogue entity Israel while taking part in Global Sumud Flotilla to deliver humanitarian aid (which cannot be obstructed under international law).

W/ Pak’s recent policy flip (upon US dictation) re Israel, it is highly unlikely that the political or military leadership here will do anything at all to secure his release.

We pray for his safety, demand his immediate release, and also demand accountability under international law for this criminal obstruction of delivery of humanitarian aid.

Dr Mahrang Decides to Take Legal Action Against DG ISPR

Over the past several months, the military spokesperson (DG ISPR) has repeatedly made baseless and defamatory accusations against Dr. Mahrang Baloch. After careful legal consultation and deliberation, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her organization have decided to initiate legal action by sending a defamation notice to the DG ISPR, demanding either substantiation of his allegations in a court of law or a formal public apology to Dr. Mahrang and her organization.

Dr. Mahrang has authorized her legal representatives, Advocate Imaan Mazari and Advocate Hadi Ali Chattha, to issue the legal notice and proceed with court proceedings if necessary. A power of attorney was sent to the prison and duly signed by Dr. Mahrang. However, the jail authorities have refused to attest the document, claiming that they will not facilitate the process because the case is against the DG ISPR. This is despite defamation being a civil matter with specific time limits under the relevant law.

The jail administration’s refusal to cooperate and their repeated excuses amount to obstruction of justice. Sending a defamation notice (and pursuing proceedings under law) is Dr. Mahrang’s legal right, and attempting to deny Dr. Mahrang this right is not only unlawful but deeply concerning.

We urge the relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law and ensure that Dr. Mahrang’s constitutional and legal rights are fully respected.

There's been a 13% fee hike in our per credit hour fee (from PKR 23,760 to PKR 26,910). The hostel fee has also increased to over 60k+. To put things into perspective, you'll be now paying 50k+ more just to study the same 16 CHs.

The LUMS admin has had the policy to increase fees with the inflation rates, which were always between 5-9%, but with inflation hitting an all-time high this year at 13%+ the fee hike MUST be resisted and reverted - inflation impacts students more than the admin
