@ArkenElAmerikan I have a few other caveats, too. And one massive thing missing is better urbanism. American cities are in desperate need of better walkability/bikability, with good public transit, instead of being car-dependent hellholes.
Leftist women fetishizing Luigi Mangione are living out a weird, repressed, politicized fantasy of masculinity.
After years of harping on toxic masculinity, shaming men, and stiff-arming chivalry, women on the left have fixated on Mangione because he represents a sort of masculinity they are finally allowed to celebrate, because it’s politically coded as acceptable — anti-capitalist, anti-corporate.
They’ve fancied themselves damsels in distress, held captive by the insurance industry in the cavernous tower of the healthcare system. Mangione is their knight in shining armor, fighting on their behalf, slaying the enemy, taking up arms to defend their cause.
In our age where masculinity is toxic, vigilantism is fetishized.
Americans and Europeans kinda miss a bit of cultural context here. The bearded guy in blue at the end is Дед Мороз, "Grandfather Frost." Simplest way to explain it is that it's Russian Santa Claus. (1/4)
@Angelica_Reed1@TheOmniLiberal “Determinism therefore no death penalty”
Even if actions are determined, the death penalty serves as a causal mechanism to influence future behavior — even within a deterministic system!
In opposing this, you oppose all empiricism and the possibility of science in principle.
You complain about money in politics but you’ve been inexplicably muted about Elon/Trump, which has been far more corrupt than any dynamic we’ve seen between billionaire/politician before — particularly with recent developments.
When will you vociferously condemn it?
Since it's this time of the year again, I think it's appropriate to remind people of our biggest cultural export - Shchedryk by Mykola Leontovych shot dead by chekist (Soviet state agent).
He gave the world the most beautiful Christmas melody known as Carol of the Bells.
Every single conservative who agrees with me underneath this tweet will flip around and deny every single J6 insurrection video and insist it was a peaceful protest.
I hate all of you.
"Therefore, if you just present people the facts, they will reason to the right conclusion.
False!"

@RoennReeds Personally, I'm obsessed with the measure in the first movement of Moonlight Sonata that goes A Major 7, D# diminished, G# dominant 7, C# minor. To me, it feels like Beethoven managed to express an apology in that chord progression, which I find amazing and beautiful.
