Growing Ann Arbor area's local food ecosystem as a year-round every-day farmers market #foodhub. All about food systems, agri., farmers, community & Michigan!
@UMichPrezOno So, the President of UM shops from our selection of locally farmed goods. And asks staff about their majors. We’re fans. #GoBlue#knowyourfarmerknowyourfood
Independent retailers lead natural products' sustainability efforts:
"This isn't anything new to us. We feel we should all do our best to use less of the Earth's resources, whether it be water, clean air, healthy soil, less electricity, & certainly less carbon-emitting energy."
Great example here that one area of land can support crop & animal agriculture. It’s a false dichotomy to assume they are always separate. Livestock provide circularity to the food, fiber, and biofuels system.
For every $1 spent on food, only 14 cents goes to farmers. Now is the time to transform our food system to create a fairer, more transparent system, so at the end of the day more of that dollar ends up in a farmer's pocket.

One of my favorite parts of living in Ann Arbor is receiving my weekly produce box from @ArgusFarmStop . Here's the mushroom and kale curry I made last night with some of the delights in yesterday's box.
