We love Danmei, yet we don't know the reason why we fall deeply in love with Danmei. Here is why:

1) Back then, I thought Yaoi/danmei/BL were genres targeting male(gay) audiences, and when I found out that females occupy most of the danmei community, I was quite surprised.

3) Oxytocin is typically linked to warm, fuzzy feelings, something that females produce. It is often referred to as our “happy hormones", or love hormones. I think it may be why because I always feel fuzzy whenever I read danmei.
