"AI is teaching your kids 5 things"
AI IS SLOWLY TEACHING YOUR KIDS THESE 5 THINGS. YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF IT.
Nobody sat down and taught them this on purpose. That's exactly what makes it dangerous.
Quick reminder: autism is not an intellectual disability.
Some autistic people also have an intellectual disability, but the two are separate conditions that can sometimes occur together.
there’s an uncomfortable pattern in the way the world talks about countries experiencing conflict or political instability when those countries also happen to have valuable natural resources. gaza has offshore gas resources, sudan has major gold deposits, the democratic republic of congo has enormous cobalt reserves, afghanistan has significant mineral deposits, and other regions have oil and strategic resources. none of those facts alone explains why a conflict happens, and it’s important not to reduce complicated histories to a single cause. but natural resources, foreign interests and economic power can absolutely become part of the story. whenever people discuss a humanitarian crisis, it’s worth asking not only what is happening to the people living there, but also what economic interests surround the land and resources.
going to work every day is part of being employed. motherhood can involve an entirely different collection of costs that don’t appear on a paycheck. pregnancy changes your body. childbirth carries medical risks. maternity leave can interrupt a career. time away from work can affect future earnings. sleep disappears. and in many households, the mother can become the person everyone automatically looks to for meals, cleaning, appointments, school issues and nighttime wake-ups. so comparing a husband’s salary to everything his wife has given up to raise their children misses the actual calculation. paid work is only one part of the contribution.
I’m so sick of tone policing. The first draft of anyone’s emotions is guaranteed to be imperfect, illogical, and potentially even unfair. Especially if they’re already traumatized. If you’re trying to communicate in good faith you ask why they feel that way, not how they could have put it better to not offend you while they communicated.
Everyone’s all about “supporting the disabled” until a woman with CPTSD doesn’t respond in the “right” tone during a meltdown
Then suddenly, all that understanding seems to disappear.
wait wait wait so apparently if your brain won't let you leave the house until everything is perfect but also cannot start getting ready until it's almost too late, that's a specific ADHD pattern and not just you being impossible? 1/6
Nobody talks about the invisible "ADHD tax" that isn't financial:
It's the physical energy spent trying to act normal in a 45-minute meeting when your brain is actively screaming, analyzing the ceiling tiles, and replaying a conversation from 2017 all at the exact same time.
Being autistic and having a high sex drive can be confusing because sometimes you’re horny and sometimes you’re just overstimulated, lonely, bored, seeking dopamine, or desperately trying to regulate.
The body said “good luck figuring this out.
If your cat loves you, you're basically untouchable. You could disappoint everyone in your life and she'd still sit on your laptop like, "anyway, feed me."
