M.S. in Clinical Research Methodology | B.A. in Psychology and Social Science Disciplinary - Health and Human Services w/ concentration in early childhood
Had a great week/weekend at SRA! Enjoyed getting to hear all of the great research happening across disciplines.
Have some new ideas for research that I’m very interested in exploring!!
Post-conference thoughts:
-Research is so fun
-I need a very long nap
-Feeling inspired after seeing some top-tier business attire (i.e., buying pink work pants asap)
-Mountains!
With SRCD coming to a close I decided to spend the day exploring Salt Lack City and it did not disappoint. I would call my first travel a huge success❤️
I’m incredibly excited to be attending McGill’s Clinical Psychology PhD program this fall to work with @NK_Christophe!! I am honored to join such an amazing lab and program 🥺
Day 2 of SRCD went great! I presented my work and got to hear a lot about the impact of COVID-19 on the social, emotional, and physical development of youth. Really enjoyed the opportunity to network with people from various schools and disciplines. #SRCD2023
Day 1 of SRCD in the books! Despite a hectic traveling day, I was able to get to the conference early and attend a few presentations. Can’t wait to hear more about all of the exciting research happening in child development tomorrow! #SRCD2023
Feeling refreshed and ecstatic this morning! Officially submitted all my PhD applications 🥳 So grateful for my mentors and friends who have been incredibly supportive over the last few months! THANK YOU for demystifying the hidden curriculum of applying to grad school ✨
Congrats to everyone who submitted grad school applications this cycle! 🥳The application process is hard and taxing, so I hope you can do something fun to celebrate this accomplishment! Regardless of the outcome, you are worthy and deserving. Best of luck!
PhD apps are in, my thesis is off for its first major review, and I’m officially two months away from getting my masters degrees.
Huge thank you to all my friends, colleagues, and mentors for encouraging and supporting me throughout the process 💜
NO-vember reminders 🌻
It's fine to say no to
- working unreasonably long hours/weekends
- taking on more work than you have time/energy for
- spending time with people/on things that don't make you happy

Ideally a PhD supervisor should be:
• a coach
• a mentor
• an editor
• a career counselor
• an expert in your field
Since we don't live in an ideal world, it's hard to find a supervisor with all these qualities.
So, you'd need to be strategic in your search.
Every year I read a lot of grad school applications from accomplished people that don't give me the info I'm looking for. It feels like a major hidden curriculum thing. So here's (my opinion on) how to write a great Statement of Purpose/Research for a PhD program. 🧵 1/
Last year, a group of faculty from the Dept. of Psychology and the COE came to the consensus that the youth mental health crisis response must expand the mental health workforce, accelerate research and innovation, and incorporate schools and community orgs. to reach youth. 1/3
Last year I taught myself R with resources I primarily found via Twitter. I've been meaning to share some of the resources here, and I finally have a little time today. So here they are... 🧵
