🚀 Up to 2 cm of Prosial® can protect parts of Ariane 6 from the intense heat of launch. This sprayed, lightweight insulant covers about 200 m² of the launcher.

What impresses you most: thickness, low mass or heat resistance?

Rocket engines aren’t all tested in the same place. 🗺️
A few examples:
Vernon: PF50 (Vulcain 2.1), BAMOCRY (combustion chamber, engine or full stage)
Kourou: BEAP (solid boosters, vertical)
Lampoldshausen: Vinci, with DLR

Where did you think they were? 👀

🚀 44 metallic tiles coated with Prosial® help protect the Vulcain® 2.1 engine from the extreme thermal loads of Ariane 6 liftoff.

What impresses you most: the temperatures, the thermal protection, or the precision of the integration?

🚀 Prometheus® pairs liquid oxygen with methane, enabling more compact stages and supporting the development of reusable launch systems.

What matters most for the future of rocket propulsion: lower costs, easier operations, reusability or performance?

[ArianeGroup @ArianeGroup]

🚀 A single Prometheus® engine is designed to be reused up to 5 times, with multiple ignitions possible during a mission and across successive flights.

Which aspect of reusability impresses you most: durability, multiple ignitions or cost reduction?

🚀 VA271 – LE-04 : Ariane 6's 10th flight is on the horizon!

Arianespace is preparing to launch 36 Amazon Leo satellites aboard Ariane 64 from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. Liftoff is currently targeted for no earlier than November 23.

This will be the fourth Ariane 6 mission for Amazon Leo, bringing the total number of satellites launched by Arianespace for the constellation to 136, upon successful completion.

For this mission, Ariane 6 will fly in its most powerful configuration, with four P160C solid rocket boosters.

Another step in Ariane 6's operational ramp-up and our continued partnership with Amazon to help bring connectivity to more people around the world.

🚀 The launch window is set.

The launch window is now confirmed for Ariane 6's next mission, dedicated to the launch of the MTG-I2 satellite.

Liftoff is scheduled for August 27, 2026, from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, within the following window:
- 16:10 – 18:40 (Washington, D.C.)
- 17:10 – 19:40 (Kourou)
- 20:10 – 22:40 (UTC)
- 22:10 – 00:40 (Paris - August 28)

Launching aboard Ariane 6, MTG-I2 will strengthen Europe's next-generation geostationary meteorological satellite system, providing enhanced imagery for the early detection of severe storms, weather forecasting and climate monitoring.

Designated VA270, this mission will be Ariane 6's fourth launch of the year and its first mission to geostationary transfer orbit.

The launch campaign is underway. Stay tuned.

🪐 Reaching Mars is only part of the challenge.

For ExoMars, protecting the spacecraft during atmospheric entry is just as critical. ArianeGroup contributes with Norcoat® Liège HPK.

🚀 Ariane 5 (1996) - The legend. 117 flights, a 98.4% reliability rate, and a role in some of space exploration's defining missions: the Rosetta comet probe, the BepiColombo mission to Mercury, and the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope on Christmas Day 2021.

🚀 Ariane 6 (2024) - The new generation, carrying that legacy forward with a reignitable upper stage for greater mission flexibility.

Which one is your favorite?

World Space Week 2026 is here, celebrating this year's theme: "Rocket Revolution."

Over 45 years, 6 generations, one ambition: keep Europe's access to space independent.

[ArianeGroup @ArianeGroup]

🚀 Ariane 1 (1979) - Capable of placing nearly 1,850 kg into geostationary transfer orbit. It marked the beginning of Europe's autonomous access to space.

🚀 Ariane 2 (1986) - A shorter chapter, but an important one: upgraded engines and a longer cryogenic third stage paved the way for greater performance.

🚀 Ariane 3 (1984) - Boosted with solid propellant strap-ons, extending what the early Ariane family could carry.

🚀 Ariane 4 (1988) - The workhorse. 116 launches, only 3 failures, and more than 180 satellites carried into orbit over 15 years, one of the most reliable launchers of its era.

[ArianeGroup @ArianeGroup]

Space used to be for a few. Now startups, universities and new space nations are in too. "Rocket Revolution" is this year's World Space Week theme. We build the launchers that keep that access open for Europe. 🚀

ExoMars, born from three missions: Beagle2 (2003), Huygens (2005), Schiaparelli (2016). Each one built ArianeGroup's expertise in atmospheric entry.

@Universelostcom Thank you, couldn't agree more! Proud to have protected Huygens on its way down to Titan 🚀

Today, that heritage protects Rosalind Franklin's 3.80-metre shield, the largest ever built in Europe. 🛡️
