🛡️ Un enlace malicioso puede usar Telegram Desktop para robar archivos y tomar una cuenta

Investigadores publicaron una prueba que demuestra una vulnerabilidad en Telegram Desktop.

Sería capaz de acceder a archivos de la computadora después de que el usuario abre un enlace especialmente preparado.

Si entre esos archivos están los datos de sesión de Telegram y la cuenta no tiene un código local de protección, el atacante podría reutilizarlos para entrar a la cuenta.

Hasta ahora no hay evidencia pública de ataques reales aprovechando esta falla.

⚠️ ¿Qué pasó?

La vulnerabilidad es CVE-2026-107181 y afecta versiones anteriores a Telegram Desktop 7.2.9.

Una CVE es el número público utilizado para identificar una vulnerabilidad.

El ataque comienza con un enlace abierto desde fuera de Telegram, por ejemplo desde el navegador.

Telegram recibe ese enlace mediante un mecanismo interno que permite que distintas partes de un programa intercambien instrucciones.

La falla permitía manipular ese mensaje para activar una función antigua de Telegram capaz de leer archivos locales y enviarlos a un chat sin pedir autorización adicional al usuario.

La demostración también depende de ciertas configuraciones, entre ellas permitir descargas automáticas y que cualquier persona pueda agregar al usuario a grupos.

💡 ¿Qué deben hacer?

Pidan a TIC actualizar todas las instalaciones de Telegram Desktop a 7.2.9 o posterior.

Desactiven descargas automáticas y restrinjan quién puede agregar usuarios a grupos.

Activen un código local de Telegram para proteger los datos de sesión almacenados en la computadora.

Implementen EDR, tecnología que detecta comportamientos anormales y accesos inesperados a archivos.

Para equipos con información sensible, consideren DLP, que ayuda a impedir que documentos corporativos salgan por aplicaciones o canales no autorizados.

Revisen si Telegram realmente necesita estar instalado en equipos de dirección, finanzas o administración.

🚨 Ransomware Actors Exploiting Palo Alto GlobalProtect Flaw for Stealthy VPN Access

Ransomware groups are actively exploiting CVE-2026-0257, an authentication bypass affecting Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS GlobalProtect and Prisma Access.

@ReliaQuestTR reports that multiple threat groups, including Qilin and Settra, are using the flaw to create unauthorized VPN sessions and enter internal networks through trusted remote access services.

The activity presents a serious detection challenge because attackers connect through an organization’s own VPN.

Their traffic can look like normal remote work, giving them time to steal credentials, move between systems, collect sensitive data, or prepare ransomware before security teams recognize the intrusion.
