@DnnySplashed @GreatCheshire The Castlevania adaptation was originally a direct-to-DVD film that floated around in development hell for a decade until Adi and Netflix picked it up, which explains why the story ends in season 2 and just wanders around aimlessly for seasons 3 and 4.
@SparkTFS@LaylaGameArt@Protodude Street Fighter regular gets new games with large budgets, a huge marketing blitz, and years of post-launch support. How is Mega Man supposed to meet that sales standard when Capcom sets it up for failure every time?
@DekrakerRyan@Protodude They took a way bigger gamble on that live service dinosaur game just for it to instantly crash and burn like most live service games do, but somehow Mega Man is too risky.
@TF_Moments They made a whole game about finding out who killed him, and you could theoretically beat the whole thing twice to get the true ending and STILL not know because the answer is in a hidden room you'd never find on your own.
@TheLewdestSpud I meant more the high-quality pixel art style rather than making it a brawler.
The original being a Sunset Riders clone is what made it stand out from the other Konami licensed arcade games!
Guess I have to put this here since Bsky is borked atm...
After much faffing about with different versions and an emergency cancellation, I'll FINALLY be streaming my first time playing a Grand Theft Auto game tonight at 9:00 on the purple site!
@Games4Eternity Me, remembering when Deep Down was announced in 2013 as one of the first games revealed for the PS4 and over a decade later it's neither out nor officially cancelled.
@itsratnest Capcom treats every IP that isn't their big three like shit. Mega Man gets cited the most often because unlike the rest of their dead/neglected IPs, Capcom still pretends/lies when confronted about the lack of new games that it's still an important IP to them.
@Protodude@acahoon2 And yet they still choose to do nothing substantial with the IP because even though it almost always has a high ROI, Capcom seems to only be concerned with the number of copies sold, not the revenue made from sales.
@patrickbromley Has Nicolas Cage been in more than a few bad movies? Yes. But he never half-assed his performance in any of them, because he clearly just loves the experience of acting in a movie no matter what movie it is.
