The education system is in a catastrophic crisis. It needs systemic change, not patchwork: CPIML MP Raja Ram Singh
Speaking during the Lok Sabha discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) (Amendment) Bill, 2026 on 28 July 2026, CPI(ML) MP Raja Ram Singh began by condemning the Modi regime's war on the students and youth of the country, including brutal police repression and persecution.
He said that the widespread anger among young people over rampant paper leaks reflects a catastrophic crisis in the education system. However, he argued that this crisis requires systemic change rather than a patchwork approach. He added that measures such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 only deepen this crisis by accelerating the privatization of education, thereby pushing millions of poor students out of the system of affordable and quality education.
