Our mission: To help our neighbours in need. We provide services to help people get back on their feet so that they can live joyful and productive lives.
Many non-profits, including those not delivering frontline services right now, are in jeopardy. Emergency stabilization funding is required from the provincial and federal governments.
@WesternUSC @TheWaveandSpoke @TSALondon@Mission1951 Thanks! We've had great support from UWO, restaurants, individuals, Kohn meatmarket, Portuguese Bakery, etc. We're handing out food.
@MeganatLFPress 'Never seen'?? Why isn't the press digging into this if it is a crisis and not simply passively reporting? And why does it take an agency head to advocate when the City has a homelessness prevention office?
"Harm Reduction is working" @Healthmac Opioid related deaths have decreased at a time when it is expected to raise. "A positive sign we're moving in the right direction" - Dr. Chris Mackie #addiction#LdnOnt
Barbara Addley of @ArkAidMission in #ldnont is hoping people will consider donating clothes, footwear and blankets this season, which can be dropped off at 696 Dundas St. during regular business hours. #SpiritOfGiving#swont
Itโs #GivingTuesday! Retweet @Benevityโs video today using #BeTheGood (hint: itโs pinned to their profile). Make sure you @ mention us and theyโll donate $10 on your behalf! https://t.co/bktK1BaBUh
It takes some serious muscle to move 2,500 pounds of potatoes but volunteers at The Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre are happy to โsweat it outโ for this donation... just a fraction of the 20,000 pounds of food given to the @coalition_food this morning! @CTVLondon
Cracking down on panhandlers, removing people who are sleeping rough, might get the problem out of sight, but it doesn't address the causes. It's going to be a long, hard journey for us as a city. But I have hope because we're making some progress.
