Cosmos Awards Winners
Congratulations to all the winners of this year's Cosmos Awards!
In this short thread we will introduce the winners for each category.
We will start with the awards for Collections ⬇️
Man, like so much of crypto, Asteroid Protocol was a fever dream.
I remember pitching the idea for an inscriptions protocol on Cosmos in a @delphi_labs Telegram chat. There wasn’t much response. Then, about 48 hours later, out of the blue, one of the best devs I’ve ever worked with, @donorail (who’s now building the biggest swap aggregator on Monad at @monorail_xyz), pinged me to say he’d finished building a prototype.
That prototype already had everything: an indexer, a UI, an inscriptions scanner, a fungible token framework. The whole stack.
Cosmos felt like the perfect home for inscriptions. It ran faster than bitcoin, and at the time it didn’t support permissionless smart contracts. Asteroid enabled fungible tokens and NFTs on the premier Cosmos chain for the first time ever.
Within hours of launch, millions of transactions were executed, mostly minting $ROIDS. It all happened so fast I barely had time to mint a few batches myself.
Over time, thousands of art collections and fungible tokens launched. We received grants and ran experiments with metaprotocols, games, and even a tokenized social protocol called Trollbox.
But the part I value most is the people. I met artists and builders from all over the world. The feedback I heard again and again was that Asteroid was "easy to use." It didn’t require deep knowledge of blockchain architecture. You could upload an image and mint instantly, for a fraction of a penny.
Ultimately, though, the crypto gods giveth and they taketh away. The meta shifted away from Cosmos, and now we’re here.
The infrastructure may be winding down, but the inscriptions are still embedded in the Cosmos blockchain, and they always will be.
They’re our digital footprints.
As we pass through the unknowable horizon of autonomous technology, I’ve started to think of them like hieroglyphics in a cave. We were here. We explored the boundaries. We saw what was possible, and we acted.
I want to say thank you to everyone who minted, transacted, or built on Asteroid. To the bridge operators, devs, Ark team, grant teams, marketers, space hosts, podcasters, and artists on the fringes, thank you.
I wish it had kept growing and become the canonical protocol for permanent content. The gods had different ideas. But if you asked me whether I’d do it again, in that same time and place, the answer would still be yes. We can be paralyzed and dazzled by our social feeds and billion-dollar algos, or we can roll up our sleeves and act. Asteroiders were the ones who acted.
If you’re bullish on $ATOM, understand that this is the SAME GUY but 3 months apart.
Question for @0xMagmar … after a YEAR of collecting a salary, what have you accomplished that benefits the holders/stakers/LPers of $ATOM?
What @0xMagmar and @cosmos managed to do to @cosmoshub in almost 1 year 🧵
1️⃣ Announced an “EVM focus,” built hype, and had retail buying $ATOM.
2️⃣ They canceled grants and f$cked projects that wanted to build on Cosmos as their home chain
(@arkprotocol , @StargazeZone , etc.).
3️⃣ Pivoted back from EVM to the Cosmos stack after 3 months.
Too expensive to execute, and with far too many competitors. Any EVM or @solana user could’ve told you that in 10 minutes ,it didn’t need 3 months.
4️⃣ Dropped a new roadmap 🤡
---- “Focus on institutions.”----- Cosmos stack.
5️⃣ Continued f$cking projects that tried to build via EVM integration
(@stride_zone ).
6️⃣ Completely neglected NFT communities supporting Cosmos. @expedition_pics@DeFiGeeksNFT@SinGardenNFT ,etc.
No real incentives.
No marketing support.
No effort to onboard or grow communities.
7️⃣ Results? Builders leaving Cosmos, community losing faith.
After almost 1 year:
❌ No transparency
❌ No real value delivered
❌ Just vague narratives and buzzwords
Cosmos is starting to feel like a graveyard, and ICL looks less like caretakers and more like people looting the dead !
We glad to announce partnership between @POSTHUMAN_DVS , @_atomone, @_gnoland, @Allinbits_inc and @jaekwon perosnally
1) @centrifuge_dig - https://t.co/QVF9F4bQBH - will become open source public good, and will be deployed on Atom One
2) @SputnikNetwork - https://t.co/lAYFXNdIco - will be integrated with @_gnoland to provide "Username Services"
3) @MetarchySpace - https://t.co/tAlPLQaNBh - will be launched of Atom One
4) Liquidity poll PHMN/ATONE and/or/maybe PHMN/PHOTON will be created
5) Jae Kwon bought $PHMN to lcok it in POSTHUMAN DAS and participate in the decentralized governance of the POSTHUMAN validator
More collaborations coming soon
Also supporting migrating @StargazeZone to the Hub 100%. Lots of things are happening at Cosmos - no matter how the outcome of all this will be, it feels like an "endgame" tbh 🙃.
May be the force be with us!

May be the force be with us! @cosmos facts:
1. app chains, protocols, builders, community: many left, struggle or about to die / leave.
2. Cosmos Labs: a) heading to new directions and b) consolidating (dropping CW, "AEZ" does not include Cosmos OGs, etc.). Both may be good or not - in any case it hurts.
Both 1) and 2) may not fit together - though both follow the same force: making Cosmos the place to be!
Imho it's good having Plan B (curious about upcoming prop) in place.
Imho whether the drop of $ATOM has something to do with this, just distracts about the fundamental direction Cosmos needs to go.
As Cosmos Ecosystem Maximalists, we believe that mutual assistance is essential to building the Internet of Blockchains
We believe that the exodus of so many blockchains from the Cosmos is an indication of the wrong direction
We would like to emphasize that the social-darwinist position expressed by @0xMagmar is not the opinion of the entire @cosmos, but only the opinion of @cosmoslabs_io
We are convinced that mutual assistance is the most important factor of evolution
The idea that an endless fighting of everyone against everyone will lead us to a good outcome is a misconception
Apparently, @cosmoslabs_io doesn't see that Cosmos is dying, at least we haven't seen any attempts to ressurect it
For over a year, we've been waiting for some action from the so-called "leaders of Cosmos," but we mustn't forget that a strong community doesn't need leaders
The community already voted not to trust @interchain_io
After that, ICF appointed Cosmos Labs in their place
Why do we trust Cosmos Labs if we don't trust ICF?
Let Cosmos Labs continue developing the Skip Protocol - they're doing a great job
The fact that they're failing to manage Cosmos is reflected in the drop in the price of $ATOM since ICF appointed them "leaders of Cosmos"
We will soon publish our proposal to ressurect the Cosmos, as we no longer have time and hope that someone else will save the Cosmos
7 creators. 6,000 $USDC on the line.
The first crypto game show on wheels.
How much do these creators really know about crypto?

with the Hub migrating to EVM & Confio moving on from CosmWasm as well it legit feels like CW is done for
istg if this is the end of CW I'm leaving the Cosmos for good. I've said it before: I came here for the DX. if you're gonna make me torture myself with EVM I'm gonna go do that on Arbitrum.
what the fuck did I waste my time for here
P.S.: I don't blame Confio. there's literally no funding for CW stuff here since the Hub leadership said fuck CW, and other chains can't afford it since we're all fighting over the remaining capital before it too inevitably flees off to Solana & Base.
I'm genuinely debating just being done with this shit. I legit have better shit to waste my time on. I could've made cool indie games instead ffs.
I got this message loud & clear a few months ago: I am not wanted here
the Cosmos I knew & loved is dead
one day, and that day is fast approaching, I'll build my own chain, the way I want it, the cypherpunk way, and it'll be the last thing I ever do here
fuck corpos
Since you work for @cosmoslabs_io now & you have an opinion on the topic of usurping governance.
Explain where the governance mandate is that permitted @0xMagmar & @gyunit_ taking control of @ATOMAccelerator payroll, funds, grants, & managing receipt of VC invested assets?
