The Rural Caucus of Arkansas is on a mission to grow a movement throughout the state.
We want to identify issues, advocate for solutions, protect rural communities, and help find and support Democratic candidates at all levels of government.
Will you join our movement?
Arkansans having to crowd fund for WATER! I know we are the kind of people who will come together and push through crisis but this water business has been ignored for decades. Shame on @SarahHuckabee for not showing up when it matters. #arpx
.@ForARKids submits new version of education support initiative to @AGTimGriffin. Requires private schools getting #vouchers to meet same academic standards as public schools, adds universal pre-K.

Friday's #Arkansas Legislative Council meeting delved into the water crisis in Helena-West Helena. Senate GOP leader Bart Hester put the focus on the actions of city officials, rather than solutions. (And given the situation, is $100K really "significant"?)

This is what happens when you neglect a community and its people.
We know how to fix failing (failed) water systems and we’ve known about West Helena’s broken water infrastructure for some time now. One can only wonder why it hasn’t been fixed.
Arkansas deserves better. 🐝🦾
It was so great to be with the @DemsWhiteCo tonight and hear from the next US Congressman from the 2nd District, @MarcusforAR. As he said tonight, “We have to build a bigger tent and a brighter Arkansas.” It’s going to be a great year!
Even as a grad student, when I spoke at MIT's MLK breakfast, building Dr. King’s vision of the “Beloved Community” was on my mind. I want to bring this vision to Arkansas—to build a community where everyone has a seat at the table. A community where Love and Justice prevail. #MLK
Not only will I keep replies open, I will (1) engage with Arkansans on Facebook, which is far more widely used in my district than X; (2) stand *against* bullying and violence; (3) actually show up across my district often and be accessible, responsive, & transparent. 🎯
The Rural Caucus of Arkansas honors Marton Luther Kings's legacy today, reflecting on the strides in civil rights within our state. As we commemorate the past, let's strive for unity and equality in the present, fostering a community where justice and fairness prevail. #MLKDay #ArkansasCivilRights
@BlueHogReport nailed it. Ark's 1st District deserves a Rep who doesn't blatantly shut out constituents' voices at every turn ... Will you donate $24 today to help me win? https://t.co/IoRo3nlzw8 or visit https://t.co/n6XQCdmm29. @ArkDems@VortexArkansas@JonesForAR@DNC
We will be assembling our community contact points across the state this week for the new education ballot initiative. I am looking for a simple community contact points in as many points across the state as we can assemble. At this point, the only thing we are looking for is help building a giant network in anticipation of getting the ballot released from the Attorney General. If you are interested in being a community contact point to help recruit volunteers and get information out, please contact me. The best way for me to keep up with everyone is through email. Please send me the following information:
Name
City and County of Residence
Best contact phone #
Text # if different
Email address

Looking forward to hearing from everyone and moving public education forward for Arkansas.
I won’t stand by while Republicans defund public education, attack educators, or try to ban historically/scientifically-accurate curriculum because it makes them uncomfortable.
Every student has the right to a quality education, and I’ll fight every day to make sure our schools are safe from extremists’ book bans and hate.
We know the best ways to help students, the evidence has been out there for years. But we just don't do it.
A proposed amendment aims to force the state of Arkansas to finally do right by kids.

Congratulations to Barry Jefferson, the new state President of the @NAACP of Arkansas. Honored to be at his swearing in ceremony.
“We are here to stand and fight for the people who need us. That’s why we are here! This is a warning. We are ready! We are the NAACP! We are coming to stand and fight!”
-President Barry Jefferson
Faulkner County Ballot draw. I love when our youth get involved in the political process. Lorne, the son of @KwamiAbdulBey has the opportunity to draw positions for all of the Presidential candidates in the primary.
Excellent conversation between @piper4missouri & @WillWatson about recruitment, rural organizing, & the path to a better future.
“Politics generally treats rural people and southern people as sort of a monolith. Until you travel and go meet people, you don't really understand.”
