The ATA was honored to award Rodney Fisher with the inaugural “Ron Fisher Lifetime Achievement Award.” Ron Fisher, Rodney’s Dad, started the ATA in 1988. Rodney has been a great asset to the Turfgrass industry and we were thrilled to present this award to him.

Just a Reminder—If you are thinking of entering a sports field, lawn, or golf course for an ATA award at our 2026 Conference, then this might be the best time of year to take pics of that field, lawn, or course (green and lush versus during Fall or Winter).

We were fortunate enough to be able to give out 2 scholarships this year. The first one was to Seth Ford for “Incoming Freshman” and then to Hayden Hawthorne for “Outstanding Intern.” Both are students at the University of Arkansas in the Turfgrass department. Congrats!!
