Checking out lets the hotel staff know the room can be cleaned and put back into circulation for early check-in, but also to get a jump on the rooms that all turnover between check-out and check-in.

@JenaFriedman My wife had two unmedicated, completely natural labors lasting 17 and 12 hours. She breastfed the first for 18 months and is at 14 months with the second.
She says breastfeeding for the first several weeks-to-months is far worse than unmedicated labor.
