For high-risk Veterans, lower odds of using VA-delivered vs non-VA specialty care under MISSION Act criteria. Along with more eligibles, implications for care coordination.

@madison_healey Maybe the resident was in the restroom? Or was on the phone with a consult or chemistry? Or was in a meeting with family? Or any number of things?
This is why MD passed our #ERPO law in 2018. When family, police, or docs are concerned someone may be a danger to themselves or others, this order temporarily removes their firearms until they are safe again.
But it does not work if no one knows about the law. Spread the word 🚩
@NPR This was predictable. The laws may not have been drafted with clinical expert opinion that would have predicted this. These are humane considerations. How can we outside Texas help our brothers and sisters in Texas who may be facing undo risk and harm now?
A Texas OB-GYN recently had to tell a woman that her fetus had anencephaly — a condition where the baby doesn't have a brain. It's always fatal, and patients are typically given the option to terminate.
Except now the state's law prohibits it.

@THECITYNY@NYCTSubway Saddest thing i noticed when i used to get on the c train at 116th: Elderly frail folks needing a very long time to navigate the stairs. I remember when a midtown dwelling young professional didn't believe me as I stated most MTA stops arent accessible.
1/ There are nearly 500 @NYCTSubway and Staten Island Railway stations — less than 30% are fully accessible to riders with disabilities.
At @THECITYNY, we cover accessibility extensively.
We’re going to tell you about it…
