@fiago7 I would say Tennessee. Two main areas...Smoky Mountains(most visited national park/tourist towns of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg) and then Nashville.
@KyleTuckerCBB That would be great. I have no idea why so many Kentucky fans don't want us to be the top NIL basketball school. I would be more shocked if UK wasn't at least a top 5 NIL basketball school almost every year. Kentucky always spent way more on basketball than anyone.
@shaunvlog_ Hope she is feeling better. Unfortunately, this might cost more than your whole trip (only somewhat exagerating). Our medical costs are completely absurd.
@Nate_Tice People are still missing the point. It's not really about NFL players being great soccer players. It's the fact that the majority of athletically inclined guys in the US don't play soccer. They do in other countries. It clearly hurts the overall talent pool for US soccer.
@TaylorTwellman In the USA, the guys who are most inclined to be good at any sport aren't the ones playing soccer. Even the best soccer players in most high schools aren't being picked first for a random sport in gym class. Most countries get top athletes to play soccer. but not US.
@CoachSwit Counterpoint. I've coached D1/pro/mlb players. When I talk to them or their parents, they always say the most fun they ever had in baseball was playing youth travel ball. Travel ball has its problems for sure, but kids love it.
@GageEHC Good 11 and 12u travel teams can play "real" baseball rules. Major 12u travel baseball is actually really good in my opinion. 9u and 10u shouldn't play with lead off. A walk means the kid is on 3rd in 2 pitches. Taking pitches just to allow runner to reach 3rd. I hate that.
@JaredB_BSBL There's some middle ground here. Coach has to let the kids have fun away from the field (it's why kids like travel ball better). On the other hand, the parents also have a responsibility to the team and to not let the kids spend hours and hours at the pool during a tournament.
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds It will take time. I'll use myself as an example. I've spent my entire life playing and coaching sports, but this is the first time I've had interest in soccer. As I said, soccer was literally discouraged when I was growing up. It will be interesting to see how it evolves here.
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds My main point is that we've probably missed a ton of good soccer players because they picked American football, baseball, etc. Some of those great athletes might have been world class soccer players despite only being good high school American football players due to lack of size
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds I agree to an extent. People mention NFL guys as examples, but I actually don't know if they would be able to translate their athletic abilities to soccer. I've coached top level baseball players, and its similar. The ability to run fast means nothing if you don't have skill.
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds I was just using baseball as an example that skill development takes time. It's extremely rare for anyone to be good at baseball without starting early. I imagine that soccer would be similar in that regard since it's a skill driven sport.
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds This probably sounds crazy to most of the world, but in the southern US (where a lot of the best athletes live) kids would be mocked for playing soccer when I was young. It has probably changed now but that mentality has prevented athletes with the most potential from playing
@Xahmie_k@LFCAmericanReds I'm not saying you could take the best MLB/NBA/NFL players and they would instantly be good at soccer. The coordination and skill are much like baseball, so it would take development from a young age. The problem in the US is our athletes are pushed into other sports.
@nunbouit@Joshua_J_S@FreddyLA7 I don't understand the Publix thing either. All the FL people who moved to my area were constantly talking about it and hoping we'd get one. Publix eventually expanded to my area, but I still don't see any reason for the enthusiasm. Not bad, but basically a standard grocery store
@mahenderson1973@Colonel__Kurtz@FreddyLA7 I'll try another location sometime. Kept seeing the recommendations and was a little confused. The prices are great though. I do like the milkshakes.. even at my bad Cook Out.
@Colonel__Kurtz@FreddyLA7 I keep seeing people recommend Cook Out. The one near me is not very good and no one really goes there. Should i try a different one before giving up on it? Now I'm genuinely curious if ours just sucks for some reason.
