One of Only Two Suspended Lakes in the World Is Hidden in Nigeria 🇳🇬

Sometime around 2022, I had the opportunity to visit Iyake Lake in Ado-Awaye, Oyo State one of Nigeria's most fascinating natural wonders.
What makes it truly remarkable is its rarity. Iyake Lake is often cited as one of only two suspended lakes in the world. While most lakes are found in valleys or low-lying terrain, a suspended lake sits high on a mountaintop. The only other lake commonly associated with this distinction is Hanging Lake in Colorado, USA.

That alone makes Iyake Lake extraordinary.

But what stayed with me most was the view from the mountain. Looking out across the horizon, I could see vast stretches of undeveloped land in every direction an expanse so large it felt bigger than some cities.

Standing there, I couldn't help but wonder: how long will it take before all this land is occupied? Will it happen within our lifetime, or will future generations stand on this same mountain and see the same endless landscape?

For a moment, the lake wasn't the only wonder. The view itself became a reminder of how much space remains, and how small we are compared to the scale of nature.

So to say 1995 was an important year for the Maggy 7’s is an understatement. And indirectly coming full circle from the memories of Toy Story 5 released yesterday back to the origins of Toy Story 1…
