The notorious Section 224 of the National Defense Authorization Act has survived the first attempt to strike it from the legislation.

American shows that the new Flock cameras in Tennessee aren’t being installed correctly

The Tennessee Department of Transportation granting approval for these cameras he’s showing specifically based on the use of the approved crashworthy slip plate hardware

Flock cameras did the tests, presented the slip plate hardware as what would be installed and then once they got approved they’re just installing them with concrete

The reason why this is dangerously is because if a vehicle crashes into one of the polls with a camera, the slip plate is designed to break away. It will do less damage to the vehicle and driver

The current poles they’re installing are actually extremely dangerous. In a crash they can cause “spearing” and be fatal

These are legitimate concerns about roadside hardware compliance, and they are not being followed. The proof is right here

Again this is serious. It’s deadly
