Barack Obama claiming 'we don’t yet have the details about the motives' behind the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting is peak out-of-touch delusion. The shooter, Cole Allen, left a detailed manifesto explicitly targeting Trump and his administration. He called Trump a 'rapist pedo,' railed against the administration in anti-Trump posts, donated to Democrats, and had a campaign sign in his yard. He sent the note to family minutes before charging the checkpoint with guns and knives.
We had the motive before the smoke cleared. Pretending otherwise isn’t caution — it’s deliberate gaslighting to avoid admitting this was left-wing political violence fueled by years of overheated rhetoric portraying Trump as an existential threat. Condemning violence is the bare minimum. Refusing to name the obvious motive while the facts are public makes the statement look like damage control, not leadership. The American people aren’t stupid — we see the manifesto, the timeline, and the pattern."
James Carville is a rancid, bitter old ghoul who's spent decades mainlining partisan venom like it's his life support.
Saying you "don't want Trump to die" but explicitly want to "watch him suffer" isn't some clever quip or "just venting." It's the kind of sadistic, dehumanizing garbage you expect from the most unhinged corners of the internet -- not a longtime Democratic strategist who's been on TV for 30 plus years cashing checks while pretending to be a wise Cajun everyman.
He's not hoping for policy defeat. He's not even hoping for electoral loss. He's fantasizing about visible, prolonged human suffering from a political opponent. That's not "passionate politics." That's the mindset of someone who's completely lost the plot and let tribal hatred rot whatever principles he once had.
Carville built a brand on being the sharp-tongued Democrat who could own Republicans with folksy charm. Now he's just another drooling partisan who sounds like he'd happily watch the other side bleed if the cameras were rolling. The "I don't want him dead" disclaimer is pathetic cover-- it's the same energy as "thoughts and prayers" after you spent years cranking the temperature on eliminationist rhetoric.
This is what decades of treating politics like bloodsport does to people. Carville isn't a unique monster; he's just loud and old enough that people still platform him. But damn if he doesn't perfectly embody how much of the professional political class - left, right, whatevever-- has devolved into performative cruelty and moral bankruptcy.
If you're still booking this guy in 2026 like he's insightful commentary instead of cautionary tale, you're part of the problem too!!!!!!!!!!
