attended the cjp protest at shivaji park and i'm disappointed that a serious issue like SIR is being reduced to a crime committed by just one individual, gyanesh kumar. while his resignation should be the starting point, nothing short of a roll back of SIR as well as reforming the process by which ECs are elected is needed.

however, today's protest was all about gyanesh kumar's resignation. gyanesh is a pawn that bjp rss will be willing to sacrifice just as they did with dharmendra pradhan. so the protests need to go beyond that and demand systemic reforms.

SIR is nothing but CAA and NRC implemented from the back door. it's so unfortunate that two of the leading intellectuals who fought against CAA NRC, umar and sharjeel, are in jail. every patriotic indian should read them to understand how to resist fascism in today's india.

CEC Gyanesh Kumar has to be held accountable for the illegal actions of the ECI which has led to deletion of 13 crore voters through the SIR of voter lists. Police has detained hundreds of people who had gathered to peacefully raise their voice to demand resignation of Gyanesh Kumar & scrapping of SIR.

Atleast 2,000 people detained by Delhi police and armed forces. Delhi leader of opposition Atishi and student leader Neha Bora also detained. Protestors haven’t been able to reach the ‘designated protest site yet’. Journos being targeted as well.

so while there are protests going on in delhi, let me share my experience

everytime a minor inconvenience happens, this warden’s (who holds mbbs and md degree btw) first instinct is strict hostel timings

and this time; when girls from girls hostel opposed the same;

In Delhi where women are protesting for their safety and against the rising rape cases, were people are protesting against vote chori and other electoral scam. In the same delhi, the PM is enjoying 'bhajan clubbing'. Its a joke on us. This should anger us more.
