The now-famous photograph of an SAS operator on January 15, 2019. A single member of the UK’s 22 SAS Regiment moving to respond to a terrorist attack on the DusitD2 Hotel complex in Nairobi, Kenya.
He was in the country teaching foreign internal defense to Kenyan special forces when al-Shabaab attackers hit the complex, grenades first, then a suicide vest, then gunfire on the guests inside. There was no time to form a proper team and nothing more than the kit he was already wearing.
He entered the compound alone, balaclava on, a shield badge identifying him as law enforcement to those he passed. He joined Dan Prastalo, a Slovenian with the diplomatic protective services, and the two of them started clearing the office block and car-park buildings floor by floor while the attack was still underway.
The siege lasted more than 12 hours before Kenyan forces declared the site secure. 21 civilians died. For what he did that day he later received the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, Britain’s second highest award for gallantry in action. Unusually for a serving SAS soldier, his name eventually became public: Christian Craighead.
One man, on his own, in another country, with no order sending him in and every reason to stay out. He went in anyway.
"Who Dares Wins"
Footage of former British 22 SAS operator Christian Craighead during the DusitD2 hotel complex terrorist attack on January 15, 2019.
His actions were captured on camera and quickly spread worldwide. People began referring to him as "Obi-Wan Nairobi."

During Pampore attack on 21 feb 2016 while fighting terrorists he made the ultimate sacrifice.
The day before the attack on 20 feb at 2pm (as in the photo) he posted this on his Facebook. It says "kisiko reservation chahiye, kisiko aazadi lekin Hume to sirf apni razai chahiye"
He meant that someone is demanding reservation (at that time jats were demanding for OBC category and he was a Jat too) and someone is demanding independence but he just wants his razai to sleep peacefully at night. Basically he said he doesn't care what is happening inside the country, he just wants to serve his country and sleep peacefully at night.
This post became viral after his death on the next day.

"It is God's duty to forgive the enemies, but it's our duty to convene a meeting between the two." (attributed to Indian Army)
Respectfully, dear general and dear leaders, this is the only 'dialogue' that India should work towards wrt Pakistan.
Heart-wrenching 💔 As the body of SOG jawan Amjad Khan reached home, his 1-year-old daughter cried, “Papa… Papa.”
This is the true cost of terrorism. For those who justify terror or preach talks with Pakistan, may this sight shake your conscience.
The most admirable thing about Akshaye Khanna is how genuinely content he seems with his life. He was at peace before Dhurandhar, and he appears just as undisturbed after the film created a fresh, unprecedented craze around him.
In similar situations, most actors would aggressively monetise the moment with back-to-back interviews, TV appearances, podcasts, and constant visibility to maximise money, relevance, and fame. Khanna, however, has been nowhere to be seen.
The ability to not chase validation even when it’s freely available is a level of self-assurance and inner balance one should truly aspire to achieve.
We're just not talking enough about this scene from #Dhurandhar!
How intelligently Aditya Dhar uses 'Asto Ma Sadgamaya' mantra. It is almost hypnotic- audience and Hamza knowing he's done the right thing and walked the path of Dharma and yet scares you in the moment of disillusion. It puts both things together- the very mortal being of a person- who is shook and reeling from his actions yet knows he's walking on the correct path.
Everyone in the theatre collectively gasped when Rehman's shaky fingers held the cigarette and Hamza collapses on the floor.
You gotta give it to @AdityaDharFilms for portraying the trauma, disbelief and realisation so well.

Hi, sir - our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM.
This is an official clarification.
I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us. 🙏
