@KG6783@adammocklerr I think that if the law is requiring children to attend school and they go to the one that the gov’t provides, then the gov’t should ensure their safety and wellbeing. That includes feeding them.
@2percentisfair@adammocklerr 1. This would require investment in an entire food supply infrastructure which we don’t need because supermarkets already exist.
2. EBT cards allow for indirect gov’t funding of local private businesses, which helps the economy.
And you’re against this because feelings?
@2percentisfair@adammocklerr What does this have to do with EBT cards? Also, are you advocating to replace EBT cards with, like, government soup kitchens or something?
@AdamBromley17@adammocklerr That’s why these free lunch programs are so great. Someone already ships the food and cooks the meals. We’re not reinventing the wheel here. We’re just making sure some kid doesn’t have to accrue “lunch debt”.
@michellejess751@adammocklerr Did they even raise taxes for this, or did they just reallocate resources in the budget? Either way, I voted for my tax dollars to go towards feeding children.
The diet MAGA dems are losing their minds and crashing out not only because of DSA wins but because Zohran is actually delivering on his campaign promises and doing it quickly. "there's nothing we can do" but minor tweaks around the edges is being proved factually false, and they don't want you knowing that.
