Immensely rich decadent Europe is standing by while a proto-fascist dictatorship systematically grinds down its peaceful pro-European neighbor. Well, then, it deserves what that dictatorship has in store for it, Europe, next.
Touching down In Beijing, Putin was met not by the president, nor even the prime minster but the foreign minister. In the symbols-obsessed China, can there be a clearer message (or a more poignant insult)?
“Enough is enough!” President Trump tells Israel to stop bombing South Lebanon. When will enough become enough in Russia’s bombing Ukrainian cities, Mr. President?
My copies of SIEGE OF KAZAN 1552. IVAN THE TERRIBLE BREAKS THE KAZAN KHANATE have finally arrived! Thanks to @OspreyBooks for indulging my desire to cover this little known but, I think, fascinating campaign
Russia’s military recruitment numbers remain steady, but how long can the regions foot the bill? Meduza asks researcher Janis Kluge. https://t.co/F6oBImWTXY via @meduza_en
As Russia systematically grinds Ukraine into the stone age, the EU, with a combined GDP of $20 trillion (and 8 times Russia’s), apparently is too poor to supply Ukraine with anti-drone defenses and to give Ukraine electricity generators. Shameful, outrageous, immoral. Suicidal.
What a gift to Putin, Trump's “peace plan”! While pretending to “work on it" and whisper sweet nothings into Trump’s ear in 2.5-hour phone heart-to-hearts, Putin will continue bombing Ukraine’s energy installations condemning hundreds of thousands Ukrainians to freezing.
“1984” in 2025:
Putin: “We did not start this war”
Trump: “President Putin was very generous toward Ukraine succeeding"
Orwell: “War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength”
Putin wants the entire Donbass, especially the heavily fortified parts. So slim are the chances of his accepting a “demilitarized zone” that Zelensky’s offer looks like a clever maneuver to expose to Trump Russia’s unwillingness for any compromise.
But even if Putin agreed, who will enforce the demilitarization? Russian would never allow troops from the NATO countries. Remember, the “demilitarized” Rhineland into which Hitler marched in 1936?...
