Pre-GDC Dokkan Hot Takes Thread ⌨️
Been playing Dokkan casually since around 2016–2017. I only started seriously grinding Power Level during the 10th Anniversary — before that, I was sitting at around 600K Power Level.
@DokkanMonke brother its not that big a deal its only 3 hours for only memorial stone
think of it as benefit that you can observe and choose what you would do with them carefully in the 3 hours
My prediction for this year: the Memorial Stones banner and units will follow the old formula that everyone liked.
In 2025, Dokkan changed almost everything compared to previous years.
@Pablovskoxx if the celeb flops then thats on the dokkan team for telling us its powerd up version from the best celeb of all time.
you cant blame the community for following litreally what have been stated by dokkan team
@DrkShadowX@DTR_Vector no probelm brother <3
at the end people have different opinions on everything and the most important thing is to have civil conversation and exchange ideas while respecting others to end with a meaningful conclusion.
banners can be not nice for f2p and whales its RNG game , you grind/pay you summon most of the time you get the unit, you got unlucky? the units will always return and eventually you will get them.
I mean let's be real here, that's not really true with Dokkan. You can grind all you want, but if a banner isn't nice to you, ur not getting that unit unless you cough up.
Saving can mitigate this of course, but even that can crumble to bad luck, and you gotta miss out on other units in order to save.
@DTR_Vector I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree on piracy. We’ve pretty much covered both of our positions and most of the arguments around it already, so I don’t think there’s much more to add.
@Mango_Spice_YT Exactly, you cant have the fun grinding their equips their link level and you didnt even have the fun to grind their dragon stones to get them
and the best part is to take them into hard events and complete missions with them you dont even have that option
(1/2)Seeing all the drama around private servers is mind-blowing to me.
People seem to forget that 70–80% of gacha game playerbases are F2P. You can still grind for units and Dragon Stones without spending money. Paying is mostly there if you want to shortcut that grind.
@YahBoiMikeG I don't fw private servers because that's not really my account yk. I don't get a long time enjoyment from having a account that has everything where I can build my account instead to get everything on my own without spending money
@DTR_Vector No. Criticize the monetization, refuse to spend, stop playing, or tell others why you think it’s predatory. None of that requires pretending piracy suddenly becomes justified.
@DTR_Vector I already proved you wrong about Crunchyroll once. Do you seriously want me to derail the argument again and start listing every streaming service I use and posting payment invoices? It’s completely irrelevant to the point we’re discussing.
@DTR_Vector As for “I’ve paid them plenty,” how much you’ve spent compared to me is irrelevant. There is no amount of money you can spend on someone’s work that gives you the right to pirate it afterward. Paying a lot in the past isn’t a lifetime license to use their work however you want.
@DTR_Vector Even if you wouldn’t be playing or spending without private servers, that doesn’t automatically justify using their work without permission. And by publicly advocating for them, you can influence people who otherwise might have played or spent on the official game.
@DTR_Vector yeah, I made the comparison to illustrate the logic. you pointed out a difference between groceries and Dokkan, fair enough, but that still doesn’t answer the actual point: “their monetization is bad, therefore I’m justified in doing this” is still two wrongs make a right.
@DTR_Vector the gambling comparison doesn’t really change my point. you can think Dokkan’s monetization is predatory and criticize it, I’m not defending that. but “they do something wrong so I’m justified doing something wrong back” is literally two wrongs make a right logic.
@DrkShadowX@DTR_Vector there’s a gray area. like using custom units for fun is different imo. if you still actively play and support the official game, whether through money, engagement or other ways, I wouldn’t view it the same as someone who completely replaces the official game with a private server
