A journey started with ravens, a trauma turned the tables. Layers were created searching for answers, acceptance has been a bitter battle. It took about 4 1/2 years of meddling about with ink, wandering down dark alleyways of the mind, meeting many monsters and regurgitating the unwanted.

After many reflective moments… I have decided now to share this collection of thoughts and theories, I still continue to struggle with. The narrative changes and evolves… every time I face it. The many layers challenge me. It is a journey I make daily.

There is much symbolism within these works, the main is the Raven -a shape shifter. It is both a metaphor for the feminine energy and also a woman.

Most of my works are going to be black & white ink physicals done on paper.
This work, my first one, a very colorful piece - is made with underpainting of graphite, then layered with watercolor, prisma color pencil, and ink. The background is digitally done in procreate.

Though it may seem like chaos at first glance it is up to the viewer to zoom in, peel back the layers, and perhaps discover their own narratives within.
I hope you enjoy this work as much as I did in creating it.
