Now that it has been established that the Ramacharitmanas presented by Ex IAS S Lakshminarayan has been safely kept inside Shri Ram Mandir, let’s understand who exactly the man is.
A senior journalist today told me this about him -
“Shri Lakshminarayan is a retired IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He was a close confidant and loyalist of Arjun Singh, who served as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and later as a Union Minister for the Congress.
His loyalty was such that, while P. V. Narasimha Rao was Prime Minister and Lakshminarayan was serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, he would reportedly tell almost everyone he met: “This old man (Narasimha Rao) has only four to six months left. Then my boss (Arjun Singh) will become Prime Minister.”
He was also an active member of the inner circle that supported Arjun Singh’s campaign to have the BJP’s recognition revoked by the Election Commission following the Ram Rath Yatra. I personally had ample opportunity to witness his anti-BJP and anti-RSS stance firsthand.
It is perhaps no coincidence that his tweet was publicized on Facebook by left-wing journalist Sheetal Singh and then amplified further by another left-leaning journalist known for his anti-BJP and anti-RSS views, Ramsharan Joshi.”
Visited Sanjay Lake in East Delhi today to review the ongoing restoration and rejuvenation works. During the on-site inspection, officials from Delhi Development Authority briefed me on the phased action plan to revive this vital 52-acre waterbody and its surrounding 165-acre protected forest.
To transform this important blue-green asset into a resilient, all-weather, and pristine recreational space, several key initiatives are being undertaken. I directed the expedited repair of the pipeline operated by @DelhiJalBoard to ensure a steady supply of treated water from the Dallupura Sewage Treatment Plant.
Continuous de-weeding, algae removal, and the strengthening of embankment slopes using geo-textile technology are already underway to protect and rejuvenate the waterbody. The upcoming phases will focus on channelizing stagnant water, installing bio-swales to enhance groundwater recharge, undertaking bio-remediation measures, and setting up aerators and fountains to improve dissolved oxygen levels.
Additionally, the ecological biodiversity of the area will be enriched through the plantation of 5,000 native trees. We are committed to restoring Sanjay Lake to its former glory and ensuring that it serves as a clean, vibrant, and ecologically rich public space for the people of Delhi while strengthening the city’s environmental sustainability and resilience for generations to come.
Delighted to address the incoming PGP Batch 17 at @IIM_Rohtak during their inauguration ceremony today.
I emphasized that modern management is no longer confined to efficiency and optimization alone; it is about cultivating sound judgment to navigate global complexities, technological disruptions, and evolving societal responsibilities.
Drawing inspiration from Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of a #ViksitBharat, I urged the students to remember that leadership stems from clarity of thought, adaptability, integrity, and the ability to inspire trust - not from the exercise of authority. I encouraged these future leaders to think beyond conventional silos and harness the power of education, innovation, and enterprise to contribute meaningfully to 🇮🇳 journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Wishing the students every success as they embark on this transformative academic journey.
Reading about France’s heatwave and excess deaths makes you think and India is still called “third world”? A country where installing AC needs government permission while people bake and die. Time to scrap that stereotype. https://t.co/EIAXcPNebA
The Opposition owes an apology to the bravehearts of #OperationSindoor and to the nation.
For months, they ran a campaign of calumny, spreading falsehoods, amplifying hostile propaganda, and even twisting the Raksha Mantri’s statement in Parliament to insinuate that the Government was denying the sacrifice of our soldiers.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Raksha Mantri’s remarks were made in a specific context, to demolish the malicious and entirely false narrative that India had lost fighter pilots during Operation Sindoor, a lie that was being aggressively pushed to undermine the success of the operation and demoralise the nation. Deliberately lifting one sentence out of context to manufacture outrage was a calculated act of political dishonesty.
Operation Sindoor was a resounding success. More than 100 terrorists and Pakistani military personnel were neutralised, Pakistani air bases and military infrastructure along the Line of Control suffered extensive damage, and the Indian Armed Forces demonstrated extraordinary precision, professionalism and resolve.
At the same time, the Government has never wavered in honouring those who made the supreme sacrifice. Their names now stand inscribed on the National War Memorial, an eternal tribute to their courage. Their families have been extended educational, healthcare and other welfare benefits in recognition of their unparalleled service to the nation.
While the Government honoured our martyrs with dignity and gratitude, the Opposition chose to weaponise their sacrifice for partisan politics.
History will remember who stood with India’s soldiers and who stood with those seeking to tarnish their valour.

Different parts of India are witnessing soaring temperatures and the challenges that come with it. This heat is harsh on all of us and I urge you all to take as many precautions as possible. Please stay hydrated, keep water with you when stepping out. Offer a glass of water to others. In weather like this, such kindness goes a long way.

A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during #OperationSindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour.
Operation Sindoor reflected India’s firm response against terrorism and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security. It also highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of our armed forces. At the same time, it showcased the growing jointness among our forces and underlined the strength that India’s quest for self-reliance in the defence sector has brought to our national security.
Today, a year later, we remain as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem.

Good question. During MMS ji's govt, India had a Strategic Petroleum Reserve of ZERO. But they had initiated construction of phase 1 which was still ongoing when Modi ji took over.
During Modi ji's govt, the phase 1 was completed in 2017, they filled the reserves to capacity taking advantage of lower rates whenever possible, then started construction of phase 2 of Strategic Reserves in 2018. For 50+ years, India did not have any SPR.
You are asking Modi ji to make up for all such deficiencies of 50+ years in 10 years. But the amazing thing is, they are actually doing something and delivering to fix some of those big gaps due to apathy of last 50 years in India.
Despite the current geopolitical situation involving major energy producers, our energy imports are secure and continue to flow from different sources using non-Hormuz routes.
We are comfortably placed and are able to meet the energy requirements of our citizens.
There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, kerosene, ATF or fuel oil. The availability of petrol, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, kerosene, and fuel oil is fully assured. Retail outlets across the country are stocked and supply chains for these products are functioning normally.
Domestic piped gas to homes and CNG for vehicles receive 100% supply with no cuts.
Modi Govt’s foremost priority is that the kitchens of India’s 33+ crore families, especially the poor and the underprivileged, do not face any shortage. Domestic supply is fully protected and the delivery cycle is unchanged.
In a major decision, 20% of the average monthly Commercial LPG requirement will be allocated from today to restaurants and eateries by OMCs, in coordination with the State Governments so that there is no hoarding or black marketing.
This is not the moment for rumour-mongering or fake narratives. India is navigating the most severe global energy disruption in recorded history. Crude supply is flowing. Gas is prioritised for homes and farms. LPG production has been stepped up by 28%.
Like we have done in the past, now is the time for the nation to come together and overcome this challenge.
