@chrissyteigen @_MercyFul it’s a social norm perpetuated by the patriarchy for centuries. There are many, many countries where women aren’t expected to take on their husbands’ last names and don’t, because we don’t belong to the men we marry. Your norm doesn’t have to be everyone else’s.
