I stayed up half the night thinking about this after yesterday’s chapter, where Tiuran told Thalia more about the East, Varkas’s past, and the Sheerkhan legends. Tiuran kept introducing her to the Sheerkhan’s eastern history, which is exactly what sparked Thalia’s curiosity and made her want to learn more about it. The only reason she had those so called heretic symbols in her room in the first timeline / life was because she wanted to understand the legends better out of interest, not because she believed in them or was a heretic herself. But exactly those symbols ended up being used as “proof” against her, and that’s exactly why the church intervened and why she was also accused of heresy. The more I think about it and invest more into my own theories again, the more I feel like Tiuran is the one who unintentionally set all of this in motion, and I’m pretty sure that Tiuran is a heretic. This is a huge theory, but I genuinely think that’s how it happened in the first timeline, and I can’t wrap my head around it being any different.
