The residents of Greenbrier Community Care Center in Slidell, LA are looking for penpals.
I know that everyone has a lot to worry about, and I know that time is a precious commodity, but reaching out to a stranger… https://t.co/nx5NzUMKOJ
When I was young, my cousin used to tell me that my singing sounded like a cat dying, and to please stop.
I just heard a recording of myself. I sound normal. Pretty, even.
I could have been singing for the past 20 years.
Lesson: don't ever listen to your cousin.

@jvscribbles @jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 Or, if you're going for actual rock and not metal, good luck! Finding women in modern rock is a helluva lot harder than finding them in classic rock. The best recommendation I could give you in that case is to look at Black Hole Sun by Post Modern Jukebox and go from there.
@jvscribbles @jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 After she's triggered and starts playing her music again, don't be afraid to work up from the classics.
All rock came from the blues.
Female-centric music to compliment the rise of the arc would work well.
@jvscribbles @jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 I'm pegging her as an Acid King girl. Leather, down to earth, slow and dirty rhythms.
If she's a halestorm sort of girl, that works too. I've only heard snippets of them, but from what I can tell they can be switched out for The Pretty Reckless based on which lyrics you like.
@jvscribbles @jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 Something by Etta James might be a good trigger. Something that will give her goosebumps and make her remember what it meant to fill herself up with that sensation, something with lyrics that mean something to her (maybe her grandma sung it when she was a kid, for example)
@jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 @jvscribbles Kittie (Brackish) if she's feeling nostalgic
Heilung if she's into Viking metal
In This Moment if she isn't ashamed of her power as a woman
Acid King if she's gritty and tough.
Can't give a more detailed list until I know more character deets, but it's a good start!
@jaylynnwatkins1 @Ltward2 @jvscribbles Jinjer (Pisces) if she's got a softer heart than what most people might think at first glance.
Heart (Magic Man) if she's a rock and roller with a bit of sass.
Amy Lee (Sally's Song) if your story has elements of sorrow.
The Great Cat if she shreds or enjoys classical

@lyv0n That's a perfectly reasonable thing to prefer! Concerts are more for the experience than the sound, anyway. Having said that, the rawness of the human voice can be beautiful in its imperfection, and watching someone pour themselves into an instrument can take your breath away.
@ottertitties "Look at what you've turned me into, Dad. Also, Momaw. Papaw. Aunt Tammy. Aunt Lynn. Aunt Tammy Lynn. You too, Roy. This is all y'all's fault. You created me, so now you gotta deal with me at Thanksgiving.
And no, I won't be eating turkey, cause y'all made me vegan too."
@madzjelly I can't tell if you non-baby-seeing people are lying or not and it's driving me up the wall.
There is a toddler grasping the lip of a window with both hands. His hair sticks up and fans out in the right upper corner of his hairline. He looks like he's about to giggle.
