It’s been a long time…I spent a lot of time here 16-17 years ago & I remember why. It builds strength and discipline. Something I’ve let slip in the past 5 years. As you get older the self doubt creeps in. This year isnt about playing it’s about proving I can still do it🤞🏽🏃🏽♂️⚽️
Watching Ronaldinho documentary on Netflix… various clips back from 2001-2014 Barca & Brazilian team this is where football peaked… what an enjoyable game it use to be 👏🏽🙌🏽 ⚽️#ronaldinho#netflix
🗣️ Jason Steele speaks on his incredible senior England call up.
From representing England at all junior levels to finally getting that senior call up. What a man, what a inspiration.
Jason credits his Dad, RDZ and Roberts as his main inspirations to receiving this call up... 🔥
What did the England call-up and reaction from your teammates mean to you?
“That means more to me than anything… I think being a proper good fella and a good person is way more important than anything else.”
How did it feel to be recognised by your teammates like that?
“I think that shows what you mean to people. Very emotional.”
What sacrifices did the call-up require, like cancelling your holiday?
“My wife will look after all of that, don’t worry about that.”
“No money in the world.”
Who did you speak to first after hearing the news?
“My father, he was very proud. He’s been part of it.”
How important has your family been in your journey?
“My mum and my wife have been really instrumental in my whole career… that’s what it’s all about… life.”
Which people have had the biggest influence on your career?
“There’s two people (De Zerbi and Roberts) that helped shape a lot of my career,”
What made those people stand out to you?
“They recognise a lot of things that not many people recognise in a footballer and a man.”
What does their influence mean to you now?
“Something that I’ll cherish forever.”
Did you expect your England opportunity to come at this stage?
“That’s usually the programme… It’s come a little bit later than we would have wanted!”
What do you remember about your early England experiences?
“We spent a lot of time together as kids. We were very close.”
Was representing England always a goal for you?
“It was always my dream to represent my country.”
How do you feel now receiving this opportunity again?
“I am very fortunate to have done it… this is a proud moment for me as well.”

Time to step back - unable to fully commit and travel for training moving forwards. 10 games and proved to myself what I needed to. Thank you @egtfcwasps wishing Andy & Curt all the best 🙌🏽⚽️
